National Quality Standards
This is an exciting time for those involved in work experience. Not only are the new DCSF work experience standards beginning to be used in driving quality practice in schools, but the existing National Standards for School Work Experience, an externally assessed standard, has been reviewed and is now being actively marketed nationally by Xperience. The Xperience partnership has the ability to draw on the most experienced practitioners in this field of work.
The standard, which is managed and assessed through Xperience, will support schools and enhance the work started through their auditing process.
Schools will be able to register an interest, access the Standard and a portfolio building support tool on line and print their own storyboard of how they meet both the DCSF standards and the National Standards for School Work Experience.
Xperience has also established a National Quality Standard for employers which is also be available online and provides a framework for quality placement provision. The standard also recognises the important contribution made by employers in the work experience process.
